On June 27th, 2024, I, along thousands of fans, received devastating news about the cancellation of Canada's TV reality show Big Brother Canada.

I applied to be the first deaf houseguest since the inaugural season, for a total of 12 video submissions. Early on, I also attended 5 open calls to double my chances. All to no avail.

Instead of spending my time working on an audition this year, I thought I would instead focus my energy on creating this page to commemorate the show and share my experiences.

Big Brother Canada gave away 5 pairs of tickets to watch an eviction LIVE in Toronto, ON to whomever posted the best photos in the comments. I was one of the winners! But, with my luck, there was a storm that week, and after emailing them, I was able to use it any week except the finale week. I'm finally heading to Toronto, and it was also my first time visiting the city = double whammy!

After the live taping, I began receiving texts from people from home telling me they saw me waving on TV!

Funny story: after I waved on camera, someone from the production team came to tell me that it was not allowed. Apparently, it was mentioned before the show, but naturally, being deaf, I didn't hear it. #Oops

MY FUNNY FRIEND

After my return from Toronto, I picked up my friend Vera to go to watch the high school girls play volleyball at the local school. When she got in the car, she told me about this shirt she made, but accidentally spilled coffee on it. (And an hour later, she spilled pop on herself. It must not have been her day. LOL) Very cool and funny, it's the thought that counts!

When we arrived and sat on the gymnasium bleachers, I sat on the opposite side of the arrow from her shirt as a joke, but she quickly caught on!
